Mario Biagioni was born on 7 February 1960 in Pistoia, where he still lives (via Montalbano 605/b, 51034 Serravalle Pistoiese) and works. He teaches Humanities and Latin in high school “Amedeo di Savoia duca d’Aosta” since 1987.
After obtaining a degree in Modern History at the University of Florence in 1984, he collaborated with professor Antonio Rotondò (as member of the editorial staff of the series Studi e testi per la storia religiosa del Cinquecento) until his death, specializing in studies about the Radical Reformation, particularly on Italians heretics (Francesco Pucci, Fausto Sozzini) and Socinianism.
Now he collaborates with professors Emanuela Scribano (University of Venice, Ca' Foscari) and Lucia Felici (University of Florence).
He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the series «Studi storici» of Publishing House Claudiana, Turin, since 2010. He is one of the editors of the series «Studi e testi della storia religiosa del Cinquecento», Olschki, Florence, from 1986 to 1995 and from 2007 onwards. He collaborates with some journals of History, Philosophy and Italian Studies, such as «Rivista Storica Italiana», «Historia Philosophica», «Rinascimento», «Bruniana & Campanelliana», «Allegoria», «Chichibìo».
He participated as external staff in the project Fausto Sozzini e la sua eredità, Piano Ateneo di Ricerca (PAR) 2007-2009, Università degli Studi di Siena, directed by professor Emanuela Scribano.
